Caleb cracks us up. daily. Today, he wrote this little news report for his Writing class at Co-op and I had to share it with you all…it is loosely based on the Aesop’s Fable “The Crow and the Pitcher” which they studied last week.

Last night a report came in that a homeless man named Bobby Joe Bob, who was desperate with hunger, found a can of chum lying on the curbside. He popped it open and tried to dump the fish bait into his mouth, only to find that the chopped up little vertebrates were stuck to the bottom of the can. He tried and tried to get them out, but soon gave up in despair. A thought came to him and he threw a pebble into the can of chum. He did it again and again until at last the chum rose to the top and he was able to eat the chum, quench his hunger, and die of salmonella.
