for the sake of my grandchildren

In the garden today, the boys were pulling weeds from the strawberry patch (yes-against their will. No one around here gardens willingly except me) Caleb picks up an old hand tool, that had been left outside since last fall. He gasps at the yellow stuff smeared now all over his hand and asks with terror what it is all over him? Sam informs him:
S-“It’s just rust.”
C (in relief) -“whew!”
S- (matter of factly) “Well. Not so harmless, actually. It can cause blood poisoning.”
C- (in panicked tone, frantically wiping it on his pants) “Oh NO! I want to have children!”
S-“not birth poisoning. sheesh. I said blood poisoning.”

About sparrowjourney

Christian homeschooling mom to three boys, married to my best friend, John, for over 20 years. I love gardening without gloves, learning history with my kids, cooking with lots of butter, serving others, great books, rich coffee, studying the Bible, camping outdoors, scrapbooking, vintage home decor, the smell of rain and cut grass, authentic people, poetry, laughing until your sides hurt, and babies. oh and black licorice is pretty awesome.
