Multitude Monday 9/20

today.

giving thanks to God above for His GOODNESS, expressed to me through:

Co-op, an answer to my prayer for help with homeschooling these upper grades. “Where He guides, He provides”.

how the rain makes Fall even more lush and beautiful.

waterfalls.

Glade candles in pumpkiny, cinnamony smells.

Bible Study Fellowship, and Isaiah, and new faces and old faces and a year of growth to look forward to.

the surprise of gray doves cooing beauty, just sitting there glorious on the asphalt parking lot.

the bliss of a crying baby falling heavily asleep in my arms again. I am loving being in the nursery each week.

goosedown duvet and the open window and his heavy arm flung over: equals deep, restful sleep.

setting out the autumn decorations, and Caleb says “you make our house so nice.”

a garden to harvest, despite neglect.

zucchini cake. zucchini muffins. zucchini bread.

feeding the neighbors horse an apple.

5 boys in my living room right now, all teasing and laughing and whooping at each other over the Xbox.

the cats trust, how she closes her eyes and lies on her back and purrs in bliss over a little bellyrub.

a coffeetable with nicks and scratches and pencil marks, the reminder etched down of board games and schoolwork and puzzles and movie night popcorn.

pulling back the curtains in the morning to welcome the new day.

Most of all? Today I am thankful for being broken.

because I can see now, that’s how the light gets in.

About sparrowjourney

Christian homeschooling mom to three boys, married to my best friend, John, for over 20 years. I love gardening without gloves, learning history with my kids, cooking with lots of butter, serving others, great books, rich coffee, studying the Bible, camping outdoors, scrapbooking, vintage home decor, the smell of rain and cut grass, authentic people, poetry, laughing until your sides hurt, and babies. oh and black licorice is pretty awesome.
