Thankful.

It is Wednesday, and the weekly Multitude Monday post is 2 days late, but that’s okay, right? Because this week, at least, is all about counting up our blessings and recognizing the many, many ways that “God is good. All the time.”

today I am thankful for:

His mercies new, every morning, means fresh starts and do-overs are encouraged!

my children are healthy.

for sweet cocoa in my hot coffee.

the way we laugh, then look at each other laughing, and laugh harder.

for this good, strong marriage to that good, strong man.

snowflakes. fluttering slow in gray morning light.

for serving and giving and stretching out of my natural selfishness.

for UPS, and online sales, and a Christmas list half finished before December! woohoo!

fingerless gloves.

dating John, again! a funny, romantic movie plus dinner and we cannot believe that our kids are old enough, that no babysitter (besides the Xbox!) is needed.

grandparents that come over, anyway, and kidnap our children to go to Dairy Queen.

a new-to-me gray tweed coat, that feels like what Audrey Hepburn might wear.

Sam’s silly enjoyment of “words” that make me cringe: lurve. redonkulous. telepathetic.

Josiah, humming a hymn as he empties the dishwasher.

Caleb, building his Christmas Lego House yesterday because “I just can’t wait any longer!”

new headphones that don’t pop out of my ears when I run (did YOU know ears sweat?!)

an empty living room, all ready for the Christmas decorations on Saturday.

two boys, growing fast, but I am so thankful that they still see an empty Christmas tree as a leafy green forest for G.I. Joes to climb up and attack from…

Christian homeschooling mom to three boys, married to my best friend, John, for over 20 years. I love gardening without gloves, learning history with my kids, cooking with lots of butter, serving others, great books, rich coffee, studying the Bible, camping outdoors, scrapbooking, vintage home decor, the smell of rain and cut grass, authentic people, poetry, laughing until your sides hurt, and babies. oh and black licorice is pretty awesome.
